A Raw Food Cleanse Diet can be beneficial to your body. The 80 10 10
diet is one type that you can try. It was developed by Dr. Douglas
Graham. This weight loss plan is
not a traditional regime that offers a mix of vegetables, carbohydrates,
fish and other animal products. In fact, this plan to lose weight is
biased towards the fruitarian lifestyle.
If you already eating
this way, chances are, you probably don’t need to make major
adjustments. However, for people who are not accustomed to consuming
lots of fruits every day, it is a big change.
Raw Food Cleanse Diet- Drawbacks
Fruits
have a drawback. If you are diabetic, you will not be able to consume
too many servings of fruit each day when you want to lose weight. Most
fruits are deliciously sweet and rich in natural sugar. That may pose a
danger for you. Some are even sweeter than others. For example, Tommy
Atkins and Bombay mangoes are packed with calories.
Fruits are
also fairly expensive on a Raw Food Cleanse Diet. If you have a tree in
your backyard, it’s not too hard to get some of the fruit you want. You
can also cut costs by sticking to the fruits that are in season. The
farmer’s market in your area will be a good place to get deals on fruits
and vegetables like cupuacu, guavas, pineapple and organic pak choi.
Raw Food Cleanse Diet- Less Time Consuming
Fruits
have a number of positives. They are rich in antioxidants that help our
bodies fight disease and keep us looking young. Fruits are also easy to
prepare. There is not cooking time involved and if you are making a
salad, you can dice up some mangoes or create melon balls in a short
time. Fruits are also easy to transport. You can put one in your bag and
carry it to work with you as a snack. The 80 10 10 diet makes it easier
 to build on these positives.
Raw Food Cleanse Diet- Recommended Ratio of Fruits to Fats
The
80 10 10 diet describes the ratio of fruits to fat that you should have
in your daily meals. 80:10:10= Carbohydrates: Protein: Fat. The meal plans
that Dr. Graham recommends excludes cooked carbohydrates. These would
be green bananas, sweet potatoes, yams, etc. You are not supposed to eat
anything cooked on this meal plan. I don’t know if that would work for
me.
Dr. Douglas Graham’s book, “The 80/10/10 Diet”, was not only
written for people who want to lose weight. This also a good guide for
people who are currently on a raw food diet but are having trouble
sticking to it. If you have ever considered the fruitarian diet and
wanted more information before
making that change in lifestyle, his book provides a useful amount of
information that you can use to help with your decision.
